Quinta do Casal Monteiro, Touriga Nacional

This wine is made with a restrained winemaking approach, focused on expressing the character of the estate and the natural identity of Touriga Nacional. The grapes were hand-harvested at optimal ripeness and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at 25°C. Carefully managed pump-overs ensured gentle extraction of colour, tannins and aroma. An extended maceration was carried through to the completion of malolactic fermentation, adding depth, structure and definition while preserving varietal purity. The wine was then matured for 12 months in stainless steel tanks, without oak ageing, allowing its freshness, fruit precision and distinctive floral character to remain at the forefront.
