Quinta do Casal Monteiro at ProWine São Paulo 2026: 13 Years in Brazil and a Continuous Presence at the Industry’s Leading Trade Fair

From 6 to 8 October 2026, Quinta do Casal Monteiro returns to ProWine São Paulo, at Expo Center Norte, for another stage in its strategy to develop the Brazilian market.

This return has particular significance. Quinta do Casal Monteiro has been exporting to Brazil since 2013 and has participated in ProWine São Paulo since the first edition, held in 2019. Since then, the winery has been present at every edition of the fair.

This continuity reflects the strategic importance of Brazil for the winery. In 2026, the objective is not to introduce ourselves to the market for the first time, but to build on an established commercial track record and move into a new phase: expanding distribution into new states and increasing our presence in markets where the wines are already being sold.

Twelve years in the market and six ProWine editions as a foundation for growth

ProWine São Paulo was launched in 2019 and has established itself as an exclusively B2B meeting point for producers, importers, distributors, buyers and other industry professionals.

For Quinta do Casal Monteiro, taking part in every edition has made it possible to maintain regular contact with the Brazilian market, reconnect with partners, follow the evolution of distribution and create new commercial opportunities.

This continuous presence complements a relationship with Brazil that began before the fair itself.

Since 2013, the estate’s wines have been exported to the country. Over this period, they have become available in different states and through important Brazilian retail operators.

In São Paulo, the wines have been sold through the St Marche supermarket chain.

In states such as Bahia, Sergipe, Alagoas and Rio de Janeiro, distribution includes supermarket chains belonging to the Chilean group Cencosud, including GBarbosa, Perini and Prezunic.

The result is a presence that combines export experience, retail knowledge and continued contact with buyers and wine trade professionals.

2026: turning continuity into expansion

After more than a decade of commercial activity in Brazil and participation in every previous edition of ProWine São Paulo, the question for 2026 is no longer simply how to enter the market.

The question is how to grow in a structured way.

The strategy has two complementary priorities.

The first is to reach new Brazilian states, identifying importers and distributors capable of developing markets where the wines are not yet present.

The second is to increase our presence in states where distribution already exists, creating new commercial opportunities without undermining the partners and channels that have built the existing business.

In a country as large and diverse as Brazil, these two forms of growth require different approaches.

New partners for new states

Brazil should not be treated as a uniform market.

Differences between states, distribution structures, retail networks, gastronomy and consumer profiles make it particularly important to work with partners who understand each regional market.

At ProWine São Paulo 2026, one of the main objectives will therefore be to establish contact with importers and distributors interested in developing regions where Quinta do Casal Monteiro does not yet have distribution.

The aim is not simply to increase the number of points of sale.

The priority is to find partners with the capacity to develop the brands over the long term, understand the positioning of the different wines and build distribution suited to the characteristics of their market.

For potential partners, there is an important advantage: they would be working with a Portuguese producer that is not starting from zero in Brazil. There is export experience dating back to 2013, an established distribution record and accumulated knowledge of the market.

Growing without creating conflict with existing channels

In states where Quinta do Casal Monteiro is already present, the strategy is different.

Bringing in new importers should not mean placing exactly the same brands in the same channels and competing directly with the business that has already been developed.

The estate’s portfolio allows for a more segmented approach.

Quinta do Casal Monteiro has different brands and commercial propositions, making it possible to develop alternative solutions for new importers and different distribution channels, while preserving the brands and commercial relationships already established.

This principle is particularly important in a market the size of Brazil.

A producer can work with different partners within the same state or region when there is a clear architecture of brands, channels, positioning and target audiences.

In this way, expansion can generate additional business rather than simply redistribute existing sales.

Why continue participating in ProWine São Paulo

After six previous participations, the 2026 edition also carries a simple message: consistency.

A professional trade fair is not only about making new contacts in a given year. Its value increases through continuity.

Returning to the same market makes it possible to deepen relationships, reconnect with buyers, present new proposals, assess opportunities and understand how partners’ needs are evolving.

ProWine São Paulo itself has grown since its first edition in 2019. In 2025, the organisers reported more than 20,000 visitors and over 1,500 brands from 36 countries, reinforcing the fair’s international and commercial relevance.

For Quinta do Casal Monteiro, being present from the beginning means having followed that evolution from within.

In 2026, discussions will focus primarily on two questions:

  • Which new states can we develop distribution in?
  • How can we increase business in our current markets through complementary brands and channels?

These are practical questions for a participation clearly focused on commercial development.

Tejo as part of the commercial proposition

The export strategy also begins with origin.

Quinta do Casal Monteiro is a Portuguese estate winery located in the Tejo region, combining Portuguese identity with an approach suited to international markets.

The portfolio includes Portuguese grape varieties alongside internationally recognised varieties, allowing the winery to address different consumer profiles and different levels of familiarity with Portuguese wine.

For a Brazilian importer, this diversity can be an advantage.

Portuguese grape varieties offer differentiation and identity. Internationally recognised varieties can provide more immediate reference points for consumers who are still discovering Portugal.

The estate follows Integrated Production - PRODI, holds Sustainable Winegrowing certification and is certified to ISO 22000 for food safety management.

For professional buyers, these elements provide additional information about the producer’s structure, traceability and readiness to work consistently in international markets.

From an established presence to a new phase

ProWine São Paulo 2026 represents both continuity and expansion.

Continuity, because Quinta do Casal Monteiro has been exporting to Brazil since 2013 and has participated in every previous edition of the fair.

Expansion, because there is still significant commercial territory to develop.

The next step is to reach new states, establish relationships with new importers and increase our presence in current markets through complementary brands, while preserving the partners and business already built.

After six editions of ProWine São Paulo, we return in 2026 with a different foundation from the one we started with: greater market knowledge, established commercial relationships and a clear strategy for continued growth in Brazil.

That is the conversation we want to continue in São Paulo.
